Career Grooms started in March 2001 and is owned by Ms Desi Dillingham, a Canadian who has lived in the UK since 1973. Originally transferred to London with one of the then largest recruitment agencies in the world, Drake International, the one year posting lasted for ten years. In 1983 Desi broke away from Drake and set up her own company Masterlock Recruitment and in 1999, after thirty years in the industry, she sold her company.

Desi comes from a Canadian family whose involvement with the horse world in North America is well known and has had a lifetime involvement with horses. An accomplished rider in the showing and eventing world in her early years left her with a deep love of horses and everything to do with them. During her time in the UK she has held many voluntary and elected positions within the Equestrian world including sponsorship, fundraising and management, mostly in the discipline of Dressage.
